Veri*Factu, in two lines.
It's the Tax Agency's verifiable invoicing system (Royal Decree-Law 15/2025, of 2 December). It requires every invoice or receipt to be recorded with a hash chained to the previous one and a QR code, so it can't be deleted or altered without leaving a trace.
The dates that matter.
Companies under Corporate Income Tax: before 1 January 2027. All other taxpayers (self-employed included): before 1 July 2027. Before those dates there is a trial period. Source: AEAT online office.
The penalties aren't small.
According to the AEAT FAQs (art. 201 bis LGT): up to €50,000 per financial year for anyone using systems that don't comply or have been tampered with. For the software maker, €150,000 per financial year and type of system.
The record, kept the way the Order says.
Receipt numbering in a transaction (two iPads never repeat a number), VAT per line with apportionment to the cent, a registration record for every invoice with a chained SHA-256 hash in the exact format of Order HAC/1177/2024, tax QR code with the AEAT URL, official XML and encrypted certificate. Invoices with tax ID and credit notes from the POS. And the producer's responsible declaration, published in full.

How much does a POS with Veri*Factu cost?
In Omakasia, €20 a month: it's the complete POS module, with Veri*Factu included. No setup fee, no lock-in, no per-device cost. Excluding VAT.
Does it work for a small bar or a sole trader?
Yes. The obligation reaches everyone who invoices; for the self-employed and other obliged parties, before 1 July 2027.
Is it approved by the tax office?
That seal does not exist. What exists is the responsible declaration of the software producer, which we will publish in full. The record complies with the format of the Order: chained hash, tax QR and official XML.
Can I keep using my usual till?
If it doesn't generate the record with a hash and QR, no. Omakasia runs in the browser, on iPad, phone or computer, and prints on Epson, ESC/POS and Star.
What if I already have Omakasia Reservations?
The POS is subscribed to separately, €20 more a month, and is tied to reservations: the table knows who's coming and the promo is deducted automatically.
